NVTYLL All-Star Teams
The Board has determined that the league will no longer support the season ending Green Mountain/Champlain Division All-Star game that typically coincided with the annual Lacrosse by the Lake Tournament held in Colchester. This decision was made due to the challenges of getting volunteer coaches, players to commit following the season, and difficulty coordinating field space.
To offset this decision and allow players to continue to enjoy the game and develop their skills, there will be a summer lacrosse pick-up program likely on Sunday afternoons/evenings to be held in South Burlington. Look for further details on this website to be provided during the season.
U15 This year the league will support and send a U15 all-star team to the US Lacrosse National Youth Festival in Lake George, NY on June 18-20, 2010 and to the New England Youth Lacrosse All-Star Tournament to be held at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA on July 10-11, 2010. Tryouts will be conducted on Sunday May 23 at both 9 AM and 3 PM at the Colchester home fields, and is open to any player registered with the league. Tryouts are required to take place in May as there is much administration paperwork that needs to take place well in advance of the actual Festival. Participation on this team requires a high level of commitment to make all practices. Please contact Bill Butler (COL) for more information. U13 Unfortuantely the league will not be sending a U13 team to the US Lacrosse National Youth Festival to be held in Kings Island, OH on June 26-27, 2010. Instead, the league will support and send a U13 all-star team to the New England Youth Lacrosse All-Star Tournament to be held at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA on July 10-11, 2010 and to a second tournament the weekend of July 17-18, 2010 (possibly at the Golden Goal facility in Lake George, NY.) Tryouts will be conducted on June 22 & 24 at 6 PM at the Essex home fields, and is open to any player registered with the league. Participation on this team requires a high level of commitment to make all practices. Please contact Matt Gleason (ESS) for more information. U11 New this year, the league will support and send a U11 all-star team to the New England Youth Lacrosse All-Star Tournament to be held at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA on July 10-11, 2010.
